Consistency is the key to anything and creating daily habits and rituals that become part of our lives without even thinking about them is important. Successful people develop these habits to give them the most amount of time, energy and drive to be the best version of themselves. You can pick up these habits also and bring them into your daily routine in a way that works for you
1. Develop a morning routine
Make sure you develop a morning routine and sleep routine that works for you. Some people are best when they wake up in the early hours of the morning (known as larks) whereas some people prefer to stay up late working and lie in (often known as night owls). There is no right or wrong here but do try and keep a regular schedule and either way develop a morning routine when do you wake.
Having habits like deep breathing, journalling, working out, making your bed, eating a healthy breakfast and cold plunges are all great ways to start your day well. Successful people tend to have a specific morning routine they stick to so it would be good to pick up some of these to start your day well.
2. Set your intentions for the day
Get your day started right by setting intentions through lists, journalling, meditation and visualisation. Many successful people like Tony Robbins, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Barrack Obama do these kinds of exercises to work through obstacles, manifest how they want the day to go and stay in control so try these to set yourself up well for the day ahead.
3. Take care of your body
People say you do not appreciate your health until you do not have it - so cherish it. Your body is what you need to achieve your dreams. Successful people realise this and make sure they maintain their body in the right way through eating healthily and exercising. Start the day with a healthy breakfast and include leans protein, fibre, good fats, green veggies, nuts and wholegrains throughout the day.
Exercising in a way that feels good to you is key and many successful people do some kind of extreme sport to help them navigate their way through business even better. For example Richard Branson is involved in kiteboarding and Tony Robbins does a daily 15 minute explosive routine.
4. Get the most out of your brain
Successful people use their brains more effectively - it isn't that they have more brainpower than the rest of us. Successful people recognise it is important to get the hardest tasks done first when their cognition is highest, they remove distractions such as social media and listen to good, energetic music.
Successful people also are decisive and get rid of unimportant decisions such as choosing what to wear. For example Obama wore the same clothes every day nearly throughout his presidency to eliminate the need to decide what to wear and many successful people eat the same food on a daily basis to reduce the need to think about what to eat.
5. Learn new stuff every day
In order to grow, you must be learning new skills, hacks and information on a daily basis. It is important to always keep a mindset that is open to learning more, feed your mind on a daily basis by listening to podcasts, reading books, talking to others and surrounding yourself with positive people that have the same goals as you.
As always, sending you my absolute best
